In 1969 a Nobel Symposium was organised with the title “The Place of Value in a World of Facts”. Now in 2000 obviously the management of our common public goods needs upgrading, so the Biofocus Foundation (BF) together with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA) organises a follow-up called "The Place of Value in a World of Change".

With support from the Sven and Dagmar Salén Foundation, the seminar is organised around four panels discussing why biotechnology transfer, aimed at global problems, is so much slower than what opportunities would permit.
